Ich finde es angenehmer über Haare zu streicheln als über einen Glatzkopf und außerdem hat man ein bißchen was zum verwuscheln.

Butler in charge of humor at shooting

Shooting of the Hollywood movie ‘Coriolanus’ in Belgrade was continued yesterday in the ruins by the old Sugar plant in the vicinity of the KPGT club. The set with George Butler, Ralph Fiennes, Slavko Stimac and Elizabeta Djorevska had a nice time yesterday.

‘Butler is a wonderful and totally charming person. He likes to joke while Fiennes is serious and keeps everything under control’, Djorevska says. She is playing role of Coriolanus mother’s assistant. She says that Butler has seen our movie ‘Charleston For Ognjenka’ in which she plays a role of a girl drinking all the time. ‘He told me to have been recommending that film to all in America. I was glad to hear that’, one of our best theatre actresses says. She is delighted with professionalism of Ralph Fiennes.

‘He knows names of all people, that is simply incredible. He said he liked our names. As an artist he is living this film backwards. At the set he is complete concentration. He listens to you, he watches you and at the same time is developing the next scene in his head’, Djorevska says.

Ralph Finnes explained why Belgrade is an ideal location for shooting of a modern version of Shakespeare’s ‘Coriolanus’.

‘Serbia and Belgrade are perfect for us both in creative and financial sense. The shooting costs in Serbia are relatively low and we have huge support by Serbian authorities. However, much more important are Serbian endurance and very interesting locations. For example in Belgrade there is a contrast between Austro-Hungarian architecture, old communist style and neoclassicism of the 20th century. All these styles have created a contemporary world full of history at the same time. I want people to ask ‘where is that?’ They may think it is in Germany, Russia, Argentina… Belgrade is a capital, it is a powerful city, but it could be any other city as well. It is merged into a unique history and culture but it can also represent the whole world. That is why Belgrade is a perfect location for contemporary version of the play’, Finnes said.
